Kementerian UMKM, OJK form task force on small-business finance
UMKM credit has reached only Rp1.513 trillion, or 16.7% of bank lending, far below the 25% RPJMN target for 2029.
Kementerian Usaha Mikro, Kecil, dan Menengah and Otoritas Jasa Keuangan signed a memorandum of understanding and formed a task force to broaden access to funding for UMKM. The move was announced at the UMKM Finance Summit 2026 in Jakarta on Tuesday, Aug. 11, 2026. Menteri UMKM Maman Abdurrahman said additional financing must be matched by market safeguards so UMKM production can be absorbed and not end in bad loans. OJK Chairman of the Board of Commissioners Friderica Widyasari Dewi said the working group will connect UMKM development programs with the financial services sector so businesses can move up a level. Data presented showed UMKM credit reached only Rp1.513 trillion, or 16.7% of total bank credit of Rp9.019 trillion, while the 2029 RPJMN target is 25%.
