Kemendagri holds Batch II awards, spotlights 3 million homes
Jawa Barat and Banten won the housing category as the government highlighted a 30 million-home backlog for residents.
The Ministry of Home Affairs held the 2026 Apresiasi Pemerintah Daerah Berprestasi Batch II Regional Jawa-Bali at the Bali Nusa Dua Convention Center in Badung on 28 Agustus 2026. The second round assessed four areas: implementation of the 3 million homes program, access to and quality of health services, residents' access to education services, and waste management and green environments. Home Affairs Minister Muhammad Tito Karnavian stressed that housing drew special attention because the backlog reached 30 million residents who do not yet have a home or live in inadequate housing. In the provincial category for implementation of the 3 million homes program, the winners were Jawa Barat and Banten. At the regency level, the winners were Banyuwangi, Kuningan, and Madiun, while at the city level the winners were Bogor, Surabaya, and Cilegon. Kemendagri is also preparing Batch III.
