Ogan Ilir land fire extinguished, Black Hawk deployed
Firefighting was stepped up with water bombing in Desa Sungai Rambutan, while flames also hit land near the Kramasan toll gate.
Land fires in Ogan Ilir Regency, South Sumatra, were extinguished on Sunday (26/7/2026) after ground crews and air support were deployed to the scene. Manggala Agni Daops Sumatera XIV-Banyuasin handled the fire in Desa Sungai Rambutan, Indralaya Utara District, with help from a Sikorsky Black Hawk N360UH water-bombing helicopter that dropped water on the hot spots.
Crews then swept the burned area to make sure no embers remained that could trigger a new fire. At another location the same day, fire also burned land on the side of the Kramasan Toll Gate, specifically in Desa Ibul Besar I, Pemulutan District. The incident occurred during the dry season, when parched vegetation increases the risk of forest and land fires in several areas of South Sumatra.
