Bapenda DKI fire forces Jakarta traffic lights to manual control
About 1.000 ASN at the Abdul Muis building will rotate remote work while tax services continue, officials say, with data backed up elsewhere.
A fire at the technical office building of Bapenda DKI on Jalan Abdul Muis, Central Jakarta, also affected the traffic control system run by the Transportation Agency. DKI Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung said the Traffic Management Control room, or Intelligent Traffic Control System, on the 16th floor was hit, forcing traffic lights at a number of intersections to be managed manually on site for the time being. The DKI administration asked the Transportation Agency to add personnel so vehicle flow could remain under control. At the same time, about 1.000 ASN who work in the building will be assigned to work in rotation from home, from suku dinas offices, or from other provincial government buildings. The fire broke out Friday at around 21.30 WIB, reportedly starting on the 11th floor and spreading to the 16th floor. It was extinguished Saturday at around 02.00 WIB after 37 units and 185 personnel were deployed. The provincial government said tax and asset data remained safe because the servers and data center are in separate locations.
