Kaesang to run for DPR from Central Java V in 2029 election
The PSI chairman urged prospective candidates to divide vote territories so internal competition does not hurt the party's seat target in Solo.
Partai Solidaritas Indonesia Chairman Kaesang Pangarep said he will run for the House of Representatives from Central Java V in the 2029 election. He disclosed the plan while attending a regional coordination meeting of the PSI Surakarta City branch on Saturday night, July 25, 2026. In front of party members, Kaesang urged PSI officials and prospective legislative candidates to stay united and avoid competition among themselves. He called for dividing political work areas so candidates do not compete for the same voter base and trigger internal friction. Kaesang also asked members who are not running for office to still help PSI's campaign in the 2029 election. At the forum, he said the large number of members interested in running in Solo could become capital to boost the party's vote tally.
