Jury begins weighing Lindsay Clancy’s responsibility in 3 deaths

Jurors in Plymouth, Massachusetts, began deliberating Wednesday in the murder trial of Lindsay Clancy, the former labor and delivery nurse who admitted killing her three children in Duxbury in January 2023. Clancy, 36, has pleaded not guilty by reason of lack of criminal responsibility.
The case turned on whether Clancy was experiencing postpartum psychosis when 5-year-old Cora, 3-year-old Dawson and 8-month-old Callan were strangled with exercise bands in the family’s basement. Prosecutors argued she planned the killings while her husband, Patrick Clancy, was out getting takeout and visiting a pharmacy, then tried to kill herself. Defense lawyer Kevin Reddington argued Clancy’s mental state left her unable to bear criminal blame.
