Jokowi, Surya Paloh, Zulhas pay respects to Rachmat Gobel
The former trade minister died at 03.20 WIB and is planned to be buried at Taman Makam Pahlawan Kalibata.
President Joko Widodo, NasDem Party Chairman Surya Paloh, and Food Coordinating Minister Zulkifli Hasan paid their respects at the funeral home of Rachmat Gobel on Jalan Prof. Dr. Soepomo, Tebet, South Jakarta, on Friday (10/7). Rachmat Gobel died at 03.20 WIB. The body of the former Trade Minister is lying in state at the funeral home and is planned to be buried at Taman Makam Pahlawan Kalibata, South Jakarta. Jokowi remembered Rachmat as a kind person and a hard-working minister. Surya Paloh described the late Rachmat as hardworking and sociable, while Zulkifli Hasan said Indonesia had lost a figure who left behind many achievements. Beyond serving as Trade Minister in 2014-2015, Rachmat was also known for leading Gobel Group and for serving as Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives for the 2019-2024 period.
