Jokowi Ready to Testify in Roy Suryo Trial Over Fake Diploma Claim

The 7th president, Joko Widodo, said he is ready to appear as a victim witness in the trial over allegations of a fake diploma, with Roy Suryo and dr Tifa as defendants. Jokowi's lawyer, Rivai Kusumanegara, said his client will also show the diploma he holds in court to explain the facts of the case. The case is set to go to trial soon at Pengadilan Negeri Jakarta Timur. During the transfer stage, Kejaksaan Negeri Jakarta Selatan did not detain Roy Suryo and dr Tifa. Kejari Jakarta Selatan head Marcelo Bellah said the decision came after prosecutors received a request from the lawyers and families, with the families of both defendants serving as guarantors for their appearance. Instead, both were ordered to report weekly.
