John Stones joins Inter Milan on a two-year deal

The 32-year-old defender arrived on a free transfer after his Manchester City contract expired at the end of June.

John Stones has completed a move to Inter Milan on a free transfer and signed a two-year contract. The 32-year-old England defender left Manchester City after his deal expired at the end of June, ending a 10-year spell at the club. Inter, last season's Serie A champions, brought in Stones ahead of the new campaign opener against Monza on Aug. 22. Since joining from Everton in 2016 for 47.5 million pounds, Stones made 295 appearances and scored 19 goals for City. He won six Premier League titles, one Champions League, two FA Cups, five League Cups and several other trophies. Stones also said he had spoken with Manuel Akanji before deciding to join the Nerazzurri.
