Joanne Peh scrapped China TikTok sales livestream over merchant conduct
What's new: Peh said repeated problems, smoking in her presence and a poor setup pushed her to walk away from the Guangzhou stream.
Singapore actress Joanne Peh canceled a scheduled TikTok sales livestream in Guangzhou on June 17 after what she described as repeated disrespect from the merchant involved. In a later livestream, Peh said she and her team had arrived early and prepared extensively, but the workspace was not properly set up and the merchant smoked in her presence. She said the decision was not based on a single incident but on a pattern across several meetings, including remarks about other creators that she found disrespectful. Peh told 8days.sg that canceling the stream meant giving up time, effort and income for her team, but she drew a professional boundary rather than continue with the event.
