Germany beat Ivory Coast 2-1 to reach World Cup round of 32
Germany top Group E with six points, while Ivory Coast must win their final match to advance.
Germany clinched a place in the 2026 World Cup round of 32 after a 2-1 win over Ivory Coast in a Group E match at BMO Field, Toronto, on Saturday local time. Julian Nagelsmann's side fell behind when Franck Kessie scored in the 30th minute. But two goals from substitute Deniz Undav in the 68th minute and 90+4 turned the match around for Die Mannschaft. The victory ended Germany's group-stage struggles at the 2018 and 2022 editions. Germany now sit firmly at the top of Group E with six points from two matches. Ivory Coast are second with three points and must win their final group-stage match to advance.
