JD Vance accuses Israeli officials of pushing Iran war

Vance said a financed campaign sought to derail U.S.-Iran talks, as the White House said foreign countries often shape U.S. public opinion.

U.S. Vice President JD Vance accused some officials in the Israeli government of trying to keep the war with Iran going indefinitely. In an interview with podcaster Joe Rogan published Wednesday (15/7), Vance said there were people in Israel manipulating American public opinion and running a “highly secret” and “very well funded” campaign to derail Washington’s talks with Tehran. He said the effort included leaks to journalists and social media attacks on him and the negotiating team. The Israeli government did not immediately respond. The White House, through spokesperson Karoline Leavitt, said President Donald Trump agreed that foreign countries do try to influence U.S. public opinion. Vance’s remarks came as the U.S. stepped up attacks on Iran and tensions in the Strait of Hormuz rose again.
