Jabar submits amnesty for 1,454 inmates to President
About 1,100 inmates are in the national amnesty program and must complete training similar to Komcad before release.
The West Java regional office of the Directorate General of Corrections has proposed 1,454 inmates for amnesty to President Prabowo Subianto. Ishadi Maja Prayitno, head of guidance at the West Java office of Ditjenpas, said all amnesty decrees are still awaiting the president's signature. Of the total, about 1,100 inmates are included in the national amnesty program, while about 354 others were proposed under a humanitarian amnesty for inmates with long-term illness, older age, and other certain conditions. Recipients of humanitarian amnesty will be released immediately. National amnesty recipients are aged 18 to 40 and must first undergo education. The program is being prepared with a concept similar to Komponen Cadangan, while operating and technical guidelines are still being awaited by the government.
