Istana receives proposal for new Jampidsus, Kuntadi in the mix
The presidential decree to appoint a successor is targeted for this week, with more than one name submitted to the President.
Istana has received a letter from Attorney General ST Burhanuddin containing proposals for a replacement for the Junior Attorney General for Special Crimes after Febrie Adriansyah resigned. State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi said the letter was sent on Tuesday, 14 July 2026, and is being followed up for issuance of a presidential decree. One of the names submitted is Kuntadi, head of the Asset Recovery Agency at the Attorney General's Office, although Prasetyo stressed that other candidates were also proposed. He indicated the decree appointing the new Jampidsus could be issued this week. Febrie resigned on Saturday, 11 July, and on the same day was named a suspect in alleged corruption and money laundering.
