Israeli settlers torch 2 West Bank mosques after deadly Tal clash

What's new: The attacks hit Qusra and Kour as Israeli forces searched for suspects and widened security operations after six deaths near Tal.

Israeli settlers set fire to two mosques in the occupied West Bank early Saturday, Palestinian officials said, in a new round of violence after a deadly clash near Tal. In Qusra, village council head Abdel Azim Wadi said a newly completed mosque was burned and sprayed with Hebrew graffiti including “revenge.” Palestinian officials said another mosque in Kour was also torched, alongside attacks on cars and farmland. The Israeli military said troops sent to Qusra found signs of arson and graffiti, and police would collect evidence and search for suspects. The violence followed a July 24 confrontation near Tal, southwest of Nablus, in which four Palestinians and two Israelis were killed.
