Israel opens criminal probes into killings of Hind Rajab, 15 medics
What's new: The military declined criminal cases in three other Gaza attacks, including the 2024 strike that killed 7 World Central Kitchen workers.
Israel's military opened criminal investigations into two widely condemned killings in Gaza: the 2024 death of 5-year-old Hind Rajab and the 2025 deaths of 15 emergency and aid workers. The move marks the first criminal probes into troop conduct in the war, after internal reviews by the military's fact-finding mechanism. The army said it had reviewed 150 incidents and issued decisions on five cases. It also said it would not pursue criminal investigations in three other attacks, including the April 2024 strike that killed seven World Central Kitchen workers. Rights groups said such military probes rarely end in indictments and renewed calls for outside accountability over civilian deaths.
