Inter Miami signs Casemiro; MLS probes alleged tampering

The league has not detailed the alleged violation, and terms for the negotiation rights transfer from LA Galaxy will remain sealed until review ends.

Inter Miami signed Casemiro on a free transfer, but Major League Soccer also opened an investigation into alleged tampering in the Brazil midfielder’s move. MLS said Inter Miami reached an agreement with LA Galaxy to acquire Casemiro’s discovery rights, but the terms of that transaction have not been made public until the review is complete. Casemiro signed a one-season contract through the end of the 2027 sprint season, with an option to extend through the 2028/2029 season. The 34-year-old arrives after four seasons at Manchester United and will join a squad already featuring Lionel Messi, Rodrigo De Paul and Luis Suárez. MLS has not said whether the alleged violation involved contact with the player before the negotiation rights were obtained or the transfer of those rights.
