Indonesia targets boccia team gold at Asian Para Games Nagoya

Indonesia arrives after topping three tuneup events, with boccia competition set to begin on Oct. 16.

Indonesia's boccia team is targeting gold in the team event at the 2026 Aichi-Nagoya Asian Para Games after finishing overall champion in three tuneup tournaments. Coach coordinator Islahuzzaman Nur Yadin said the team event offers the strongest chance, especially as the competition format in Nagoya still uses the old system. Indonesia has brought five athletes: Muhamad Afrizal Syafa, Handayani, Felix Ardi Yuda, Muhammad Bintang Satria and Gischa Zayana. They completed a 120-minute adjustment session at Nagoya City General Gymnasium on Wednesday, supervised by five coaches who evaluated each throw. Beyond the team event, Indonesia also sees medal chances in men's and women's BC1 through Afrizal and Handayani. Boccia competition is scheduled to start Friday, 16 October.
