Indonesia sends 432 athletes to 2026 Asian Games in Japan
The delegation also includes 148 coaches and officials and 32 CdM staff, with boxing, fencing and table tennis funded privately.
The Indonesian Olympic Committee has selected 432 athletes from 35 sports to bolster the Merah Putih delegation at the Aichi-Nagoya 2026 Asian Games in Japan, from Sept. 19 to Oct. 4. In addition to the athletes, Indonesia is sending 148 coaches and officials and 32 members of the Chef de Mission team. The lineup was decided after a joint review with the Youth and Sports Ministry and the NOC Indonesia Sports Commission on athlete readiness, medal prospects and each sport's technical needs. Three sports — boxing, fencing and table tennis — will travel under a self-financed scheme from their federations and support from partners. KOI chairman Raja Sapta Oktohari said all athletes had gone through selection, while CdM Todotua Pasaribu said preparations for departure, accommodation, competition operations and the return trip are still being finalized.
