Indonesia secures US$17 billion AIIB funding through 2029
AIIB also wants to open a representative office in Jakarta, with a target to be in place by June next year.
Indonesia has secured about US$17 billion in funding commitments from the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank for national development projects in 2025-2029. The agreement was reached in a bilateral meeting between Finance Minister Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa and AIIB leaders in Beijing, China. The funds are included in a Multi-Year Rolling Pipeline scheme already discussed together and are expected to strengthen financing for a range of government strategic projects. In the same meeting, AIIB also expressed interest in opening a representative office in Jakarta to smooth coordination on project implementation. Purbaya said AIIB did not express concern over Indonesia's fiscal condition and remained confident in the national economic outlook.
