IKN sets Muri record with planting of 2,000 trees in KIPP
A total of 2,308 participants planted along the Sanggai watershed, topping an initial target of 1,780 seedlings at once.
Ibu Kota Nusantara set a Museum Rekor-Dunia Indonesia record with the largest tree-planting effort in a city park at one time on Saturday morning. More than 2,000 seedlings were planted along the Sanggai watershed in the KIPP, Penajam Paser Utara, East Kalimantan, surpassing the initial target of 1,780 seedlings. The effort was officially joined by 2,308 participants, including officials and staff of the IKN Authority, representatives of the East Kalimantan provincial government, local governments around IKN, ministries and agencies, universities, residents, students, and TNI-Polri personnel. Trees planted included ulin, meranti, bangkirai, durian, and lai. IKN Authority head Basuki Hadimuljono said he hoped some of the fruit trees would begin bearing fruit within five years.
