IHSG drops 3.78 percent to 4,904.29, LQ45 falls 3.98 percent
Risk-off sentiment, a weaker Wall Street and food inflation add to volatility risks and could prompt capital outflows.
The IHSG closed down 192.54 points, or 3.78 percent, at 4,904.29 in Tuesday trading, tracking weaker Asian markets as investors cut exposure to risk assets. The LQ45 index also fell 20.62 points, or 3.98 percent, to 497.27. Pressure came from a weaker Wall Street, especially technology and artificial intelligence stocks, amid concerns that heavy AI spending may not deliver certain returns. Domestically, sentiment was also weighed by October food inflation, which rose to 5.81 percent from 5.03 percent. Analysts also warned of risks of capital outflows, MSCI's review of Indonesia's capital market status, and volatility in the rupiah and global interest rates that could curb an IHSG recovery.
