HSBC to add 200 Singapore roles as it opens global AI hub

What's new: The bank's first AI center of excellence will build tools for wealth, treasury and payments for use across HSBC's network.

HSBC is hiring more than 100 artificial intelligence specialists and 100 wealth relationship managers in Singapore as it prepares to launch its first global AI center of excellence there in the second half of 2026. The bank said the new hub will work on AI tools for wealth management, treasury services and digital payments, with an eventual goal of deploying Singapore-built products across HSBC's global network. Hiring will cover natural language processing, data science, AI governance and human-centered design. HSBC also said it will work with Singapore educational institutions and government bodies to build a talent pipeline as it expands higher-fee wealth and wholesale banking businesses in Asia.
