Harry Kane wins Germany's player of the year after 61-goal season

Harry Kane was voted Germany's footballer of the year for 2026 after scoring 61 goals in all competitions for Bayern Munich last season. The England captain became the first English player to win the award, which is organized by Kicker magazine and decided by 695 members of Germany's sports journalists association. Kane received 272 votes, ahead of Bayern teammate Michael Olise on 203. Bayern also completed a league and cup double and reached the Champions League semifinals last season. Coach Vincent Kompany was named coach of the year, while Bayern women's captain Giulia Gwinn took the top female player honor.
