Hamas delegation meets Egypt intel chief on Gaza roadmap
The El-Alamein meeting focused on pressing Israel to carry out the ceasefire and the 15-point roadmap amid alleged violations.
A senior Hamas delegation led by Khalil al-Hayya began talks with Egypt's General Intelligence Service chief Hassan Rashad in El-Alamein, Egypt, to push implementation of the ceasefire and the postwar roadmap in Gaza. Hamas said the discussions covered the latest negotiation developments, alleged Israeli violations of the agreement, and efforts by mediators to make Israel comply with the 15-point plan. According to a Hamas source, the delegation will also brief mediators on the group's readiness to carry out the agreement. The visit comes ahead of U.S. envoy Jared Kushner's trip to the region this week, when he is scheduled to visit Israel and Egypt to bridge an impasse after Benjamin Netanyahu rejected any further troop withdrawal before Hamas is fully disarmed.
