Gus Kikin leads PBNU for 2026-2031 after 472 votes in Jombang
He was chosen through consensus by 9 members of AHWA after topping the candidate screening at the 35th NU congress.
KH Abdul Hakim Mahfudz, known as Gus Kikin, was elected chairman of the Executive Board of Nahdlatul Ulama for the 2026-2031 term at the 35th NU congress at Pondok Pesantren Bahrul Ulum in Jombang, East Java. He first won the most support in the candidate screening, receiving 472 votes from PWNU, PCNU and PCINU representatives. After that, nine members of Ahlul Halli wal 'Aqdi deliberated and unanimously named him chairman. At the same forum, KH Miftachul Akhyar was designated Rais Aam PBNU for the 2026-2031 term. Several political figures, including Abdul Muhaimin Iskandar, Nasyirul Falah Amru, Ansufri Idrus Sambo and M Amien Rais, conveyed congratulations on the congress result.
