At least seven people were killed in an armed attack at Hamoud Church in Karak, Jordan, on Friday (23/10) while a funeral service was under way. Security authorities said dozens were wounded; Reuters reported 34 injured, while Antara cited 27. Camera footage aired by Al-Mamlaka showed three attackers firing toward the church area from the sidewalk before moving to the entrance, while other reports said two assailants emerged from a vehicle. Interior Minister Mazin Al Farrayeh said the attack was carried out by an extremist group, but its affiliation has not been confirmed. King Abdullah II visited Karak a few hours later and promised the perpetrators would be severely punished.
