Ginting, Dhinda exit as Indonesia left without semifinalist at Korea Open

Indonesia’s run in the BWF Super 500 ends in Yeosu after its last two players fall in the quarterfinals, ending any title chance.

Indonesia was guaranteed to have no representatives in the semifinals of Korea Open 2026 after its last two players fell in the quarterfinals in Yeosu, South Korea, on Friday (6/11). Ni Kadek Dhinda Pratiwi lost 13-21, 18-21 to second seed Akane Yamaguchi of Japan in the women’s singles. Anthony Sinisuka Ginting then followed in the men’s singles, losing to Jason Gunawan of Hong Kong in three games, 25-23, 11-21, 13-21. The result ended Indonesia’s chances of winning a title at the BWF Super 500 tournament. After the match, Dhinda said she struggled to handle Yamaguchi’s changes of pace and deep returns, while Ginting said his performance lacked consistency and that he made too many unforced errors.
