The interfaith guesthouses will host participants from several regions during the NU congress in Tambakberas on 27-31 August.
Several churches and a Chinese temple in Jombang, East Java, are opening free guesthouses for participants in the 35th Nahdlatul Ulama congress at Bahrul Ulum Tambakberas Islamic boarding school on 27-31 August 2026. The initiative is being led by Jaringan NU Kultural Jombang together with GKJW Jombang, GKI Jombang, BAMAG Jombang, and Klenteng Gudo. At GKJW Jemaat Jombang, the lodging provided includes air-conditioned rooms, foam mattresses, pillows, bathrooms and prayer space. Church board representative Achmad Soleh said the congregation had offered similar lodging during the NU congress in 2015 in Jombang. He said guests have come from varied backgrounds, including congress participants, NU activists, academics, researchers and journalists from several regions such as Manado, Kebumen and Surabaya.
