Gerakan Nurani Bangsa meets Sultan HB X at Yogyakarta Palace
The nearly three-hour closed-door meeting focused on falling public trust in the government and state institutions.
A number of figures from Gerakan Nurani Bangsa met with Sri Sultan Hamengku Buwono X at Keraton Yogyakarta on Wednesday (23/7/2026) to discuss national conditions. The group arrived at about 13.00 WIB and held a closed-door meeting for nearly three hours with the Governor of DIY and the King of Keraton Yogyakarta. After the meeting, Alissa Wahid said the dialogue was part of GNB's effort to meet with a number of national figures about Indonesia's current situation. Before traveling to Yogyakarta, the group had also met former RI President Megawati Soekarnoputri. According to Alissa, Keraton Yogyakarta was chosen because of its major role in Indonesia's history, including when Yogyakarta served as the temporary capital of the Republic of Indonesia and during the 1998 reform movement.
