Gaza ceasefire death toll tops 1,000 amid strikes
Gaza health authorities put the overall war toll at 73,016 dead and 173,265 wounded since Oct. 7, 2023.
Palestinian deaths in the Gaza Strip during the ceasefire have topped 1,000, as Israeli strikes continue almost daily. Gaza health authorities said on Thursday (19/6/2026) that since the ceasefire took effect on Oct. 11, 1,007 people have been killed and 3,165 wounded. On the same day, three Palestinians were killed and four others wounded after an Israeli drone hit a civilian vehicle in central Gaza City. Other strikes were also reported in Jabalia refugee camp, Tel al-Hawa and Khan Younis. Gaza health officials said many victims remain trapped under rubble or in areas ambulances cannot reach. Overall, the war toll in Gaza since 7 October 2023 has reached 73,016 dead and 173,265 wounded.
