Former Taman Puring market to become Taman Setara, vendors moved
Jaksel authorities are preparing Lenteng Agung as a relocation site, but about 140 vendors say they still lack formal confirmation.
The Jakarta Selatan city government will convert the former Pasar Taman Puring site in Kebayoran Baru into a green open space and disability-friendly park called Taman Setara. Jakarta Selatan Mayor Syafrin Liputo said Dinas Pertamanan dan Hutan Kota DKI Jakarta is still preparing the plan, and construction will begin only after that stage is complete. Meanwhile, the remaining vendors will be relocated, with Lenteng Agung listed as one of the prepared locations. But Asmun, coordinator of the Taman Puring stall vendors, said about 140 vendors have not received official confirmation of the relocation. He said the vendors learned of the move to Lenteng Agung from social media and news reports, and they worry the longer distance will raise costs and reduce their regular customers. Pasar Taman Puring burned on 28 Juli, affecting at least 600 kiosks.
