Former Singapore minister Faishal Ibrahim eyes return to NUS

Former acting minister-in-charge of Muslim affairs Faishal Ibrahim is in discussions with the National University of Singapore about returning to academia, the university said on Aug. 24. Faishal had been an associate professor in NUS' real estate department before entering politics. He resigned from political office and as a member of Parliament on July 20 after Prime Minister Lawrence Wong said his interactions with a woman from the public fell short of the standards expected of a political office holder and MP. No criminal offense was committed, Mothership reported. Faishal, who also served as senior minister of state for home affairs, was succeeded by Zaqy Mohamad.
