Jaksel Muharam festival to prompt traffic changes until night
Drivers may face slower traffic along the electric torch parade route from 14.00-21.00 WIB and are urged to use alternate roads or Transjakarta.
The DKI Jakarta Transportation Agency is preparing traffic management for the Muharam Festival 1448 Hijriah at Taman Bendera Pusaka, Kebayoran Baru, Jakarta Selatan, on Monday (15/6) from 14.00-21.00 WIB. The arrangement is needed because an electric torch parade will pass along Jalan Barito I, Lamandau, Mahakam II, Mahakam, Melawai, Gandaria Tengah III, Langsat I, Langsat, KH Ahmad Dahlan, Kyai Maja, and Leuser. While the parade is under way, vehicles will share the road with participants, so traffic on those streets may slow. Dishub is advising motorists to take alternative routes from the Pakubuwono, Fatmawati, Radio Dalam, Panglima Polim, and Kyai Maja areas. The DKI Jakarta provincial government is holding the Muharam Festival on 14-15 June to welcome the Islamic New Year 1448 Hijriah, with a lineup of spiritual education and arts and cultural events in Jakarta.
