Febrie seeks dismissal of Rp55 billion extortion, TPPU charges
In his objection at the Jakarta corruption court, he also asked to be released from detention before the main case is heard.
Former Jampidsus Febrie Adriansyah asked the panel of judges at the Central Jakarta Corruption Court to dismiss the indictment accusing him of Rp55 billion extortion and money laundering. In his objection read on Wednesday (14/10), he also requested to be released from detention immediately after the interlocutory ruling is delivered. Febrie said the prosecutors' indictment was unclear, incomplete and not careful. He specifically challenged the account of Ferry Yanto Hongkiriwang's role in the alleged extortion of businessman Tan Kian, which the indictment said was tied to the handling of PT Asuransi Jiwasraya. Prosecutors previously charged Febrie with asking for 5 million Singapore dollars, or around Rp55 billion, so Tan Kian would not be named a suspect, and also accused him of TPPU involving about Rp354,62 billion. Two other defendants, Don Ritto alias Idon and Nurman Herin, also filed objections.
