FBI arrest targets alleged bomb plot at New York Capitol

What's new: Prosecutors say the Albany woman made at least five scouting trips and hid the planned device in a DoorDash bag.

Federal agents arrested an Albany woman accused of plotting to bomb the New York State Capitol and kill lawmakers during a legislative session. Prosecutors charged Jessica Bowie, 35, with attempting to provide material support to ISIS after they say she spent weeks working with FBI informants and undercover agents posing as Islamic State operatives. Court papers say Bowie chose the Capitol in Albany because she saw it as an easier target than the White House, made at least five reconnaissance visits and bought bomb materials with $200 provided by agents. Investigators say she planned to conceal the device in a DoorDash delivery bag and was carrying knives and a written oath of allegiance to ISIS when she was arrested Wednesday.
