England, Argentina vie for final berth against Spain
Spain advanced to the final after a 2-0 win over France, leaving the Atlanta winner to meet La Roja.
England and Argentina will contest the last remaining place in the 2026 World Cup final when they meet at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta on Thursday WIB. The winner will face Spain, which advanced earlier after beating France 2-0 on goals from Mikel Oyarzabal and Pedro Porro.
England reached the semifinal through three tight knockout matches, including a 2-1 win over Norway in extra time. Jude Bellingham proved decisive with two goals, while Harry Kane and Bellingham have accounted for 12 of England's 13 goals in the tournament.
Argentina also took a difficult route. Lionel Scaloni's team eliminated Tanjung Verde, came back from two goals down to beat Mesir, then edged Swiss 3-1 in extra time. Lionel Messi has eight goals and remains the center of La Albiceleste's attack.
