Duck-catching contest livens up RI anniversary events in Kendari

Residents of Watu-Watu village, Kendari, Southeast Sulawesi, held a duck-catching contest to liven up the atmosphere ahead of HUT RI. In the traditional game, participants were blindfolded with cloth and then tried to catch ducks released into the arena. They relied on hearing and the direction of sound to find the ducks, which kept moving away. The participants' wandering turns and wrong directions drew laughter from onlookers. The contest was one of the community's entertainments for the independence celebration, while highlighting agility and an element of luck in the festive village setting.
