Drought in Jateng, Jatim, Jabar Triggers 90,000 Liters of Water

Emergency supplies reached at least 3,200 people in Demak, Jember and Indramayu throughout July.

Drought in several areas across Java triggered the distribution of at least 90,000 liters of clean water throughout July. In Demak, Central Java, BNPB distributed 30,000 liters of water to 500 households, or about 1,700 people, in Kalitengah village, Mranggen district, after the water crisis was felt starting July 22. BPBD Demak sent six tanker trucks and filled public reservoirs in affected locations. In Jember, East Java, the local PMI branch distributed 50,000 liters of clean water from July 2 to July 22 to help residents affected by the dry season. Meanwhile, in Indramayu, West Java, the district BPBD distributed 10,000 liters of clean water to 1,500 residents in Tanjakan village, Krangkeng district, on July 22.
