DPR urges 4 trade pacts matched with MSME export roadmap
Komisi VI says ratification alone is not enough without financing, certification, export promotion and more efficient logistics.
DPR RI Komisi VI member Sarifah Suraidah Harum called for faster ratification of four international trade agreements, followed by a clear implementation roadmap so the benefits reach MSMEs and the national industry. She said stronger trade ties with ASEAN countries, Tiongkok and the Eurasian Economic Union could open new markets, improve Indonesian products' competitiveness, attract investment, and add foreign exchange and jobs. But she warned that import flows could also further pressure the domestic market if the government does not protect the competitiveness of local industry. Sarifah urged higher productivity, more efficient logistics, simpler licensing, trade digitization, and broader access to financing, certification, export promotion and business mentoring.
