DPR Commission XIII approves naturalization of Mitchell Baker, Luke Vickery
The citizenship process will move forward under nationality rules, with both players expected to bolster Indonesia's national football team.
DPR RI Commission XIII approved the naturalization requests of footballers Mitchell Lee Baker and Luke Anthony Vickery to become Indonesian citizens at a working meeting at the DPR Building in Jakarta on Wednesday. The approval followed earlier backing from Commission X. The government submitted both names to strengthen Indonesia's national team. Director General of General Legal Administration at the Ministry of Law Widodo said Mitchell has Indonesian lineage through a grandfather born in Yogyakarta and a grandmother born in Semarang, while Luke is descended from a grandmother born in Medan. The Ministry of Law said a TP3K review with the State Secretariat Ministry, the Youth and Sports Ministry, BIN, and PSSI concluded that both met the citizenship requirements.
