DPR approves replacement of Ombudsman member for Hery Susanto
The replacement name was not read out in the session, but the top candidate from January 2026 screening was Wahidah Suaib.
At a plenary session on Tuesday, July 21, 2026, the DPR approved an interim replacement for a member of the Ombudsman RI for the 2026-2031 term to replace Hery Susanto. The approval referred to a July 20 letter from Komisi II DPR, but the chair did not read out the name of the approved replacement.
After the session, Deputy Speaker Saan Mustopa explained that the PAW process follows the order of results from the fit and proper test previously set by the DPR. In the reserve list from the January 2026 fit and proper test, Wahidah Suaib was first, followed by Radian Syam.
Hery was earlier dismissed after becoming a suspect in a corruption case involving nickel mining governance in Sulawesi Tenggara. He was alleged to have received money so the Ombudsman would issue an inspection report correcting a decision related to PNBP.
