Dokter Tifa Charged With Defaming Jokowi Over Diploma Claim
Prosecutors also cited Indonesia’s electronic information law, widening the case beyond defamation and libel charges in the Criminal Code.
Tifauziah Tyassuma, also known as Dokter Tifa, faced an indictment hearing at the East Jakarta District Court on Thursday (27/8) in a case over allegations that Joko Widodo used a fake diploma. Prosecutors charged her with defamation, libel and violations related to electronic information. In the indictment, the case began with a post on the X account @DokterTifa on 26 March 2025 titled “Era AI: Segala Ijazah Palsu Bakal Terungkap Dalam Hitungan Detik,” which prosecutors said attacked Jokowi’s honor. After that, Jokowi’s legal team gathered similar posts. On 15 April 2025, Universitas Gadjah Mada said Jokowi was recorded as a student and had graduated. Prosecutors said the fake-diploma allegations continued, leaving Jokowi with immaterial losses and personal reputational damage.
