DKI prepares Rp3.5 trillion regional bond for 2027 issue
A minimum seven-year tenor was chosen to fund LRT, RSUD, schools, reservoirs and polder under an open scheme.
The Jakarta provincial government is preparing to issue Rp3.5 trillion in regional bonds in 2027 to finance basic infrastructure and long-term public services. DKI Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung Wibowo said the proposal has been submitted to the Home Ministry, the Coordinating Ministry for Economic Affairs, and brought to the DKI Jakarta legislature in talks on the 2027 APBD KUA-PPAS. According to Pramono, the central government has in principle given approval. Bond proceeds will be used for projects including the LRT Manggarai-Dukuh Atas route, RSUD, schools, reservoirs, polder, and other public infrastructure. The provincial government chose a minimum seven-year tenor so the financing matches the long-term nature of the projects. Pramono also described the plan as a creative financing scheme to preserve Jakarta's fiscal health after a cut in revenue-sharing funds.
