DKI Bapenda Building on Abdul Muis Burns, 100 Deployed
Fire reportedly started on the 11th floor around 9:30 p.m. WIB and spread to the roof and sides of the building past midnight.
A fire swept through the DKI Jakarta Regional Revenue Agency building on Jalan Abdul Muis Nomor 66, Petojo Selatan, Gambir, Central Jakarta, on Friday night (7/8). DKI Jakarta Fire and Rescue Agency received the report at 9:30 p.m. WIB. Initially, two units with 10 personnel were dispatched, then the response grew to about 20-21 units and 100 personnel. Republika reported the fire began on the 11th floor, then spread to the roof and sides of the building, and was still visible at around 00:10 WIB. DKI Jakarta Bapenda chief Lusiana Herawati confirmed the burning building was her office. As of the initial report, firefighting efforts were still under way and no official statement had been released on the cause of the fire.
