Danantara cuts 258 state firms, targets near 300
The consolidation is part of an order to trim about 1,000 entities to 200-240, aiming to lower state costs.
Danantara reported to President Prabowo Subianto that 258 state-owned enterprise entities have been consolidated, with a near-term target of about 300 entities. The report was delivered by Danantara CEO Rosan Roeslani during a meeting at Prabowo's residence on Jalan Kertanegara IV, South Jakarta, on Sunday, June 21, 2026. Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya said the consolidation is seen as important to improve efficiency, strengthen governance, and reduce the cost burden borne by the state. The program continues Prabowo's 2025 directive to rationalize about 1,000 SOE entities into 200 to 240. After the cuts, the government wants state companies run to international standards and to open the door for foreign professionals to lead SOEs.
