Crane truck hits Tendean pedestrian bridge, narrowing Blok M access

A crane-carrying truck hit a pedestrian bridge on Jalan Kapten P Tendean, Mampang Prapatan, South Jakarta, early Tuesday (14/7), leaving the structure tilted and nearly collapsing. By morning, the truck was still stuck and the JPO could not be used. Traffic toward Blok M slowed as the road narrowed from two lanes to one. South Jakarta Metro Police traffic chief Kompol Mujiyanto said the road was still passable, but motorists were asked to find other routes. Polda Metro Jaya traffic officers suggested routes via Jalan HR Rasuna Said, Jalan Gatot Subroto, Jalan Kemang Raya, and Jalan Antasari. BPBD DKI Jakarta said the driver had not accounted for the height of the load; police separately said the initial cause was still being examined while waiting for Dinas Bina Marga DKI Jakarta to handle the bridge.
