Christian Eriksen collapses in Denmark friendly, leaves field conscious
What's new: Denmark's team doctor said Eriksen briefly lost consciousness, and the match with Ukraine was abandoned.
Christian Eriksen collapsed during Denmark's friendly against Ukraine in Odense on Sunday, stopping the match and prompting urgent treatment on the field. Denmark's team doctor, Morten Boesen, said the 34-year-old was briefly unconscious but quickly regained consciousness and walked off the field himself before going to a hospital for further tests. Boesen said Eriksen's implantable cardioverter defibrillator responded as intended. The game was abandoned shortly after the incident, with Denmark leading 2-1. Eriksen suffered a cardiac arrest during Denmark's Euro 2020 match against Finland and later resumed his career with Brentford, Manchester United and, most recently, Wolfsburg.
