Central Java prosecutors deny questioning SPPG, police seek escort

Prosecutors said they have only gathered data at a dozen SPPG sites as part of follow-up inquiries into alleged corruption at BGN.

The Central Java Prosecutor's Office denied that it had questioned or summoned National Police personnel over the management of the Nutrition Fulfillment Service Units in the Free Nutritious Meals program. Arfan Triono, head of legal information at the Central Java Prosecutor's Office, said prosecutors' offices across Central Java are currently only collecting data and taking statements directly at SPPG sites, including on activities and procurement. He said only a dozen SPPG units have been visited so far, and the results will be analyzed further. Separately, the Central Java Police confirmed an internal Propam circular. Polda Jateng public relations chief Kombes Pol Artanto said personnel would remain cooperative if asked for statements, provided they were accompanied by the Legal Affairs Division and Propam. The data collection was described as a follow-up from the central government after the corruption investigation at Badan Gizi Nasional.
