Carrick calls Man United's opening 2 Premier League games tough

What's new: United still want midfielder Carlos Baleba and a left-back before the transfer window closes.

Manchester United manager Michael Carrick pushed back on the idea that his team has an easy start to the Premier League season, arguing that opening games against promoted sides Hull City and Ipswich Town will be demanding tests. United visit Hull on Saturday and then face Ipswich the following weekend. Carrick said there is no such thing as a favorable start in the league and stressed that away matches against newly promoted clubs are especially difficult. He also indicated United are still trying to add players, with talks continuing over Brighton midfielder Carlos Baleba while the club remains in the market for a left-back. Mason Mount's availability for the trip to Hull is also uncertain because of a knock.
